Worth Noting: Bowie fitness group participates in ‘World’s Largest Workout”
Recently, Camp Fit participated with Visalus Sciences global efforts to break the Guinness World Record for the largest simultaneous group workout and raised almost a half million healthy meals for kids in need to help fight childhood obesity in the process.
There were 2150 group workouts taking place on Jan. 3 and 15,180 people got active that day in a variety of ways, helping 30 needy kids each benefit from free healthy meals through the Project 10 charity. In total 11 countries were involved in the world record attempt.
The World’s Largest Workout benefited Feed a Child. For every individual who participated, 90 meals were donated on their behalf by Visalus. Exactly 455,440 meals were raised in total for this cause. Camp Fit led the charge from Bowie and televised the efforts worldwide through the Camp Fit television program. Over 10,000 meals were raised specifically for children of Prince George’s County.
